Man Hangs on For Dear Life

An Australian man had to spend 12 hours hiding in a tree while hungry crocodiles waited below.

On occasion we hear horrifying stories about people who have had to look great white sharks in their black doll like eyes, while swimming to safety or hunters who have had to out smart fierce grizzly bears but Stan Martells tale is a little different. After Martell's boat capsized on the Lynne River in Western Australia on Friday night you can imagine how annoyed he was. To make matters a hell of a lot worse two crocodiles showed up to see what he was up to. According to Martell the first "croc' that arrived at the scene was definitely a big one and the second was 10 feet long. He had to climb the same tree that had wrecked his boat and hang onto a shaky branch just to avoid becoming a Friday night snack for the two crocodiles. Martell scrambled up the tree and had to cling on for dear life for more then 12 hours until a search party arrived. He only saw two crocodiles but if he had made his way up one of the mango banks in the river he would have run into many more "crocs", waiting with napkins tired round their necks while shining their knives and forks.

Stan Martell was extremely lucky that he made it through the night with out being discovered by the crocodiles who were circling him below. He must have been relieved when the rescue team arrived and his shaky branch which had been his bed for the night hadn't snapped.
