Digi-Walk Your Digi-Talk

The world of technology is expansive, ever-changing and for most - either fascinating or overwhelming. a brief look at what the world of technology has been doing of late and I was again surprised but what I had missed, even when I had been looking.

Not only can you travel online, you can now visit Mars. A new interactive website called 'Be A Martian' invites the public to help scientists execute research like improving maps of Mars. The website was launched by Nasa and Microsoft and clearly takes the standard web surfing to a whole new level.

A quote by Doug McCuistion, the director of Nasa's Mars Exploration Program reads, We are at a point in history where everyone can be an explorer." And not a moment too soon. Users on the site can get involved in a number of research tasks like counting craters. Might be something Jack Hummba would like to explore.

Since launching hummba.com, a mobile application and social network for travellers, users have had access to thousands of free audio travel guides, digital Footprint photo albums and much more. The best part is that its all available on your mobile phone. Our resident traveller - Jack Hummba is on his own mission to find the most exciting cities in the world and tell you all about it. Maybe once he's seen earth, he'll head to Mars. I don't think he'll have a problem packing, he's adept at travelling light. All Jack Hummba needs is his mobile phone. And that's all you need as well.
