Children's inventiveness and sneakiness will never seize to surprise me. If you're a parent you will understand the constant testing of boundaries as they try to figure out who they are and what place they have in this world. Sometimes it gets out of hand and may have some serious consequences but one things for sure, you have to commend them for trying.
Students in Argentina tested the boundaries to an extreme that was both inventive and a serious issue. By creating a facebook group, they figured out a way to get 11 000 students to ditch class and meet in the town square, this of course, inspired copy cats all wanting to get into the cutting class action. Go figure, one kid does it and they all have to do it!
But before they could high five and enjoy their freedom, parents and teachers had caught onto them, as they do and had the court ban these types of groups on Facebook. Sorry kids, but I'm with the parents on this one. When you're at school it feels like you've been sentenced to life but it's only when you're older you realize how beneficial it was and wished that you had payed more attention rather than pass notes about the boy with blue eyes and surfer blonde hair.
However I find myself awed at the resourcefulness and initiative this kids had to plan their escape, sort of a prison break via facebook. So if we were to grade this little "assignment" I'd give you guys an B+, why not an A? I'm glad you asked, because you got caught. While I sit here having a good chuckle to myself, I realize that this is no laughing matter but if we can't laugh about it, what else is there to do, cry? No, that wont do, all we can do is try and stay one step ahead and figure out for ourselves what else they could possibly do while using facebook. Happy investigating.
