Auckland the pulse of the Rugby World Cup 2011

Excitement is running high, with only hours left until the Rugby World Cup officially begins with the opening game being played between New Zealand and Tonga in Auckland on Friday 9th September at 20:30.
Springbok supporters will be flocking to New Zealand or gathering around televisions in their thousands to support the boys in green and watch them defend their world champion title and hopefully bring the trophy home again.
Auckland will host the final, semi-finals, two quarterfinals and nine pool matches. The games will be played at Eden Park and Harbour Stadium.

As the “City of Sails” readies itself to showcase what it has to offer, it is clear rugby fans and travellers have a lot to look forward too.

Make sure you don’t miss out on anything that this beautiful city has to offer with our free travel guide of Auckland. This guide is available on iPhone and Android handsets.
